Dear BULYPNY Members and Visitors:
On behalf of the Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals I would like to thank you for your ongoing support. I’m proud to serve as the 3rd President of the Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals Chapter and I thank my predecessors for providing the vision and dedication in order to guarantee the success of our organization.
2017, marks our 5th year anniversary as a chapter. During 2016-2017 we were recognized by Buffalo Niagara 360 (BN360) as one of the top 10 Professional Organizations in Western New York. Our organization has established over 20 community partnerships, and provided over $26,000 in affiliate give. We could not continue this success without our current leadership, community partners, and members.
As Buffalo continues to grow at a rapid pace and experience a reawakening, the Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals has established itself as a vital partner and organization within the Western New York Community. This year the National Urban League Young Professionals has launched an advocacy initiative called the Bounce Back Program. During this three part community engagement initiative I’m committed to partnering with Nationals, educating our members on voter registration, increase public policy engagement, and empowering our community to vote during local and midterm elections. As Young Professionals, we must help establish and be included in the narrative and understand that everyone deserves a seat at the table.
Our doors are always open. We welcome our community to learn more about the Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals. There is a place for everyone – volunteerism, philanthropy, and professional development. Don’t miss your opportunity to link with liked minded young professionals in our Western New York Community and other National Chapters. Together we can pioneer solutions to respond to new and long-standing issues by engineering positive, comprehensive and sustainable change built from a foundation of ingenuity, innovation, and creativity.
Yours In the Movement,
President – Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals
