Education Mini Conference

Join the Buffalo Urban League Young Professionals for our first annual Education Mini Conference. Our conference theme is “Valuing Our Children: Parents and Teachers Challenging Deficit Thinking.” This conference will discuss strategies for success in challenging deficit thinking, valuing students and families, and high quality teaching in urban schools. Our goal is to educate and empower the general public, in particular parents, teachers, and teacher educators, by equipping them with the knowledge to be child advocates and meet high standards in honoring ways.

The conference is taking place Saturday October 17, 2015 at 8 a.m. at the Health Sciences Charter School.

October General Body Meeting – How Government Works

Join us Thursday October 15, 2015 for October’s General Body Meeting. This month’s meeting is entitled How Government Works. Come learn about the importance of government and how it affects you as a millennial. The meeting will be taking place at the Frank E. Merriweather Library, located at 1324 Jefferson Avenue at 6pm. It is open to all current and prospective members.
